Built For A Red & White Deck
My first encounter with Secret Lair Drops was through a My Little Pony card that was gifted to me; if it felt out of place and non-sensical, I had to admit that I loved the perks and silliness of it all. So I started looking at these wacky cards and grabbed a few that could fit in my one deck.
Artifacts & Artifact Creatures
Cards need to be useful and some of the artifacts released in the drops are very complimentary to the way my deck plays.
Lands
Exotic lands are a good opportunity to get a mana source very close to the plateau which is the most versatile type of land I own.
Instants & Sorceries
Causing damage and protecting from attacks is what I’m looking for in instants and sorceries; some of these are just older cards with a different name which can be useful considering the original rules.
Enchantments
As out-of-place as some of these can be, they all offer something useful and worth playing.
Planeswalkers
I’ve stopped playing long before planewalkers were introduced so these were my first experience with them.
Slivers
Slivers are also a type of creature that didn’t exist when I was playing MTG, I could see their appeal and a lot of potential; I could see myself having a deck full of them.
Angels & Dragons
One of the draws of the original game was its fantastical creatures; angels and dragons are my favorite creatures and these drops don’t fail in having some interesting ones.
Cats
Who thought you could have a deck full of cats in Magic The Gathering? I sure didn’t but I couldn’t resist to these purrfect addition to my collection.
Legendary & Common Creatures
My deck doesn’t have a lot of creatures as there aren’t too many that fit my play style but I was really happy to see a few in the Secret Lair Drops that I could see playing in a game.
