Needless to say that by a twist of fate they will both be reunited and discovering their filiation decide to trade places… mischief and mayhem follows… but it is all good clean fun… It’s a cute movie, and maybe sometimes those are the movie you wanna watch, there’s no big saving the world moment or no “the world is a dark place” atmosphere… but it’s just a cute story with friendly familiar faces…

Fame the movie, is film inspired by the tv show from the 80s which was a spinoff the movie Fame, when your premise starts with this, you already are in trouble… For those too young to remember what fame is about… It follows a few students of the New York Academy of Performing Arts…. To make references that everyone can understand, it’s like if the Hills meet High School Musical… And it is SO painful watch, and this despite the lovely Kherington Payne, former contestant on So You Think You Can Dance, gracing us with her presence… Trying not to be biased; I think we’ll see that girl back in more movies, and even some where she doesn’t have to dance, either that, or the other ensemble cast is so bad that she looked so much better.

Just to give you an idea on how attrocious the movie is… Megan Mullally, the annoying chick from that annoying show Will and Grace, plays a voice coach/instructor, and at some point goes singing into a karaoke bar, and let me tell you… after seeing her lipsyncing, I trully believe that Ashlee Simpson is a genius at it… that’s how bad it was… and at this point I’m wondering if it’s useful to talk about how stereotypical the flick is: from the talented boy who used to play in his family restaurant, to the young naive talented but shy girl, with also the girl who wants to break free from her parents, and the kid being ripped off trying to make a movie… the whole movie is an endless string of stereotypical cliches….

There’s a reason George Romero is the only director of zombie films that has name recognition, aside from the fact that he invented the genre. He takes the fun of zombies seriously, while simultaneously having some fun with serious philosophical questions that arise in a zombie apocalypse. When one of the protagonists says of the undead “they are us,” one is forced to ask “what is the difference between hoards of zombies storming into a shopping mall, and the living human beings who do the same thing?” The answer, represented in the movie in the form of helicopter ascending beyond a strange horizon, is this: potentiality.

Most people seem to either prefer the first Evil Dead film or Army of Darkness when the subject of the Evil Dead trilogy comes up. These people are full of shit, because Evil Dead 2 is clearly the best film in Sam Raimi’s honestly-sort-of-meh-overall carreer. It’s the Godfather II of horror sequels, and it has everything that makes Raimi worth watching: Three Stooges humor, over the top gore and violence, and of course, Bruce Campbell with a chainsaw as a hand. At times, the film reaches a level of surrealty on par with Lynch’s Eraiserhead, a feat few horror filmakers nowadays would have the imagination of sense of humor to aspire to.

Chloe is Atom Egoyan's new which is based on French movie, Nathalie; it tells the story of a middle aged woman who hires an escort to find out if her husband is cheating on her. Every time the Chloe (Amanda Seyfried) meets Catherine (Julianne Moore), she tells her what happened with her husband (played by Liam Neeson). The film is quite good and definitely only for adults.

The main problem comes when you compare the remake Chloe to the original Nathalie: the French movie wasn't any better, but it was more subtle, and the catalyst character being older (played by Emanuelle Beart), it made the character Nathalie a more vile and intricate character, whereas Chloe, seems to be just a lolita with a lot of issues, and leaves you with the feeling that maybe she isn't evil, just suffering from schizophrenia.

In no way the movie is a bad one; it's a good film to watch, kind of uncomfortable for couples, but interesting, with great performances from the actors; there's nothing bad about the movie at all; it is just average as an ensemble.
