Most people seem to either prefer the first Evil Dead film or Army of Darkness when the subject of the Evil Dead trilogy comes up. These people are full of shit, because Evil Dead 2 is clearly the best film in Sam Raimi’s honestly-sort-of-meh-overall carreer. It’s the Godfather II of horror sequels, and it has everything that makes Raimi worth watching: Three Stooges humor, over the top gore and violence, and of course, Bruce Campbell with a chainsaw as a hand. At times, the film reaches a level of surrealty on par with Lynch’s Eraiserhead, a feat few horror filmakers nowadays would have the imagination of sense of humor to aspire to.

You know, I always thought that was the first one… I think most people picture that one as the start of the series… By the way Bruce Campbell owes me 6 bucks, I bought Alien Apocalypse on dvd… the “most successfull” feature for sci-fi, is plainly horrendous…
Well, it’s the Sci-Fi network. It’s like ordering the most popular thing on Denny’s menu; it’s still going to be crap.
wow wow wow…. don’t diss the grandslam…
